RE: Food Service Program Update

Greetings Hayward School District Parents and Guardians: 
The Hayward Community Schools will be extending the COVID-19 SSO waiver to be able to offer breakfast and lunch to all students age 18 and under at no charge until the end of the 2021-2022 school year or as long as Federal funds are available. 

HOW WILL THIS IMPACT STUDENT FOOD SERVICE?

Students will not see a change in meal service. The on-site meals will continue to be the same great foods as last year, packaged as “grab and go” for student safety and convenience. Menus are available on the district website www.hayward.k12.wi.us, under the Parents tab, Food Service, Menu. 

All meals will be free of charge for all students who take our breakfasts and lunches. This is for both on-site meals during physical attendance, and for Virtual Friday’s meals that are handed out at the end of the day, Thursday. We will continue to scan student lunch codes as they take a meal for our count, but accounts will not be charged. 

Families who are enrolled in our full Virtual Program will still have the opportunity to pick up meals once per week, which is available for all students age 18 and under at no charge.
